The varsity softball team defeated the Viera Hawks, 12-3, on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The team was behind for three innings until junior Alexis Fulker hit a home run, bringing herself and two other players home.
The team held the lead for the rest of the game , with another home run from Fulker, as well as home runs from freshman Stella Christie and junior Alexandra Beldowicz. There was some tension on the sidelines of the Hawks as Hagerty controlled the game.
“Our goal for the next game is to get ahead early and keep our energy up,” junior pitcher Ella Verne, who struck out 14 Viera batters, said.
On Thursday, Feb. 29, the girls won against the Deltona Wolves. They will play the Timber Creek Wolves on Tuesday, March 5.
