JV football shows promise for future of program

The JV football team is off to the best start in years, recently defeating schools that had never before been beaten, setting school records and precedents for future football participants. Many players attribute the win to the new head football coach, Phil Ziglar, whose foreign, yet effective, techniques have proven successful.

“He gives us a feeling of confidence. It’s amazing how much of a difference believing in one’s self can make. We go into games knowing we have the ability to win, which helps us to execute plays and sure enough, we win,” JV linebacker Rhett Wilson said.

Following a 30-0 win over Lake Brantley, the team took on the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Sept. 4. The game ended in a 32-7 victory, advancing their record to 2-0, but the team lost its third game to Winter Springs, 13-7.

The next JV game is Wednesday, Sept. 18 at home against Oviedo.
