Keeping Up With the Clubs: Leadership
Leadership teacher Kari Miller held a meeting on March 27 for all Sammy nominees and seniors interested in being a host, presenter or entertainer during the show. Miller went over what is expected of students leading up to the show and during. Things like dress code, rules, deadlines and paperwork were discussed.
The Sammys is a student-led event for seniors to win awards based on peer votes. There will be entertainment like dancing, comedy and singing.
Permission slips for all seniors involved in the show are due March 31 in Miller’s room 6-117. Auditions for Sammy hosts will be March 28 during both lunches in Miller’s class and notified by March 31 if they were selected. Voting for Sammy winners will take place April 5-7 on the senior ecampus page. There is a mandatory rehearsal for all students involved in the event April 18 during sixth period.
The Sammys will be on April 20 in the auditorium, free for all seniors. Seniors must dress semi-formal or they will not be let in. Because the Sammys is a senior-only event, students must wear a wristband to the event that they can pick up April 18-20 during both lunches.
