On Tuesday, May 7, the Husky Pups Preschool celebrated the graduation of 16 students in the auditorium. The early childhood education class organized the event and met with parents before saying goodbye to the preschoolers.
The ceremony began with a welcome message from early childhood education teacher Jennifer Hennessy, emphasizing the importance of kindness to her preschoolers. She also introduced the topics that students learned over the year, which included a wide range of songs that the preschoolers performed after her speech.
“[The preschoolers] did a really good job. They’ve changed a lot over the year because they grow so rapidly at that age, but I’m very proud of everything that’s been done,” Hennessy said.
Principal Robert Frasca presented the diplomas to the Husky Pups. Over the years, he has seen a parallel in presenting diplomas to preschoolers and high school seniors.
“Many [Husky Pups] end up becoming our future Huskies, which is kind of a cool thing,” Frasca said. “Being a principal is about really supporting the community, not just the students at the school and the staff…this is a part of our community.”
Before closing the ceremony, level five early childhood education students received superlatives to highlight their commitment to the class.
“It was really sad knowing that you spend all year with a kid, building up a relationship, and then never gonna see them again. But, it was really rewarding getting to see them walk across the stage, being with their families, seeing everybody happy and being proud of what they did,” level five early childhood education student Kaleb Heyliger said.
