On Monday, Oct. 8 the girls’ varsity volleyball game defeated Seminole with a 3-0 score on senior night, putting them to an overall record of 19-4. Senior hitter Leandra Mangual led the team with 13 kills and 12 digs, along with senior setter Corina Dos Santos having 22 assists and 9 digs.

In the first match, Hagerty got to a quick 10-6 lead, and then coasted through the set with a lot of points from Dos Santos to Mangual, quickly giving the Huskies a 1-0 lead after the first set finishing at 25-16.

“Serving tough definitely helped us, and our offense did a great job,” Hitt said.

The last two sets were very much the same, with more kills coming from Mangual and hitter Morgan Romano (8 kills). The second set ended with a score of 25-13, and the third being 25-15.

Both Mangual and Romano had an emotional night after their final home game.

“It made me feel really accomplished, especially playing with my two best friends for the past for years,” Romano said.

Even though the win was an easy one, Hitt believes that they would still be working on serving and practicing, along with getting in a good system and being ready for post-districts, which will be Oct. 15,16 and 18 in St. Cloud.
