From the red carpet to the star studded walkway,  students got to dive into the glamour of Hollywood.

Although the homecoming game got rained out, the court nominees and the Homecoming King and Queen were announced in the auditorium on Friday.

On Saturday evening during the dance, the homecoming king, senior Jason Donnelly, and queen, senior Isabella Guevara had their moment to be the celebrities of the dance.

“I’m really happy that I won with Jason, because he’s one of my good friends and we’ve been in band together the past four years,” Guevara said. “We thought it would be really cool if two band kids were nominated and won.”

About halfway through the dance, all students were instructed to leave the old gym and go to the amphitheater to see the court nominees. At the end, the king and queen had their traditional slow dance.

“To be entirely honest, I had no thoughts about being homecoming king until Isabella brought it up, [but] I’m glad I went through with it,” Donnelly said. “I’d say it’s accurate to consider her as the lead candidate; I’m just the running mate.”

Afterward, the party continued, with students dancing to classic songs like “Wobble” to new songs like “JuJu on That Beat.”

“Although it was pretty hot and crowded inside the gym, I think that the music was better than last year,” sophomore Danielle Krietemeyer said. “I wish the dance could have started earlier or lasted longer so that I could dance with my friends all night long.”

The DJ captivated the students with popular songs that keep the crowd on the dance floor the entire night. Everyone, including the DJ lost track of time wanting the party to continue for one more hour. But, the night had to come to an end.
