In Law Studies II, students do an activity regarding the amendments to the Constitution on whiteboards.

Law Studies III

Law Studies III will build upon concepts from Law Studies I and II as the program expands and it will be offered as a semester-long course. While Law Studies I focused on criminal law and II focused on constitutional law, Law Studies II will have more of a focus on civil law. Students will learn about different civil cases and apply real-world scenarios.

Through the class, Law Studies teacher Elaine Sayre pulls current events from the news and discusses them in her class, relating them to the topic of discussion. She tries to have them understand the law through current events.

“It is really nice to feed off of their energy. It just makes me so excited because I can prepare them for the real world,” Sayre said. “I let them be themselves, and we are able to have discussions on things that are important to them in their lives.”
