Daniel has already made multiple trips to the University of Florida Shands Cancer Hospital in between treatments. His new normal has become sitting in his hospital room waiting for his doctors to come in with the game plan for the day.

The faculty and staff has put together some money to give the Daniel family giftcards that they can use to go out to dinner when visiting him in Gainesville.

“The staff that worked with [his mom] is very shocked and everyone wants to know what they can do to help and how they can support them,” dean of students Christy Bryce said.

Due to the extensive treatments ahead of him such as radiation and possibly surgery, Daniel will be taking online classes for his senior year.
