On Tuesday, Nov. 7, the varsity girls volleyball team will compete against Plant High School in a regional final rematch from last season. The girls lost last year at the same point of the playoffs when the game was played at Plant, but now they has a home court advantage.

To get to the regional finals, the team had a 14-2 regular season record while also defeating Harmony twice to earn a third consecutive district championship. The team defeated Harmony a third time, 3-0, in the regional semi-final. If the team wins Tuesday, it would be the first state final four appearance in school history.

The game is at 7 p.m. in the competition gym and the tickets are $7 at the door. No season passes will be honored at this game since it is part of the state playoffs. The winner of the game will move to the state final four.

“It would mean a lot for the student section to be there,” head coach Juanita Hitt said. “We are trying to make history and having that support would be huge.”

The newspaper staff will provide coverage of the game through a live feed from the journalism sports Twitter account: @hagertyjournsp.
