Mini-pep rally hosted in amphitheater
A condensed pep rally was hosted in the amphitheater, in front of buildings 2 and 3, Thursday, Sept. 7, during break. The event was put together in response to the football game at Oviedo being rescheduled to Thursday at 7 p.m., replacing the pep rally that was originally scheduled for Friday.
The event ended up being a shortened version of a regular pep rally, consisting of performances from the varsity cheerleaders, the dance team and the drum line, the “Do it” and “I believe that we will win” chants and a speech from head coach Phil Ziglar who promised that the only hurricane Oviedo would have to worry about is “Hurricane Hagerty.”
“It’s about a community coming together for three hours, forgetting about all the problems we’ve got,” Ziglar said. “[It’s] to get everybody at ease and know that we can enjoy each other in a period of time where everybody is under a lot of stress.”
