Oviedo game moved to Thursday
Cross country meet and volleyball tournament tentative to be rescheduled
Due to the category 5 Hurricane Irma, the district has taken precautions to reschedule the highly anticipated football game against Oviedo to Thursday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at Oviedo. The freshman and JV games will be held at home on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
“We are being proactive in the event of the district moving games off of Friday and on to Thursday, just for overall safety as we head into an unpredictable weekend,” athletic director Jay Getty said.
Tickets for the game will be on sale for $6 in the athletics department.
Along with the football game, the pep rally that was originally set for Friday, Sept. 8, is cancelled and will not be moved to a later date.
Other scheduled sporting events are still “up in the air” if they will continue on.
Girls volleyball has a tournament held in Venice this weekend and cross country has a meet on Saturday in Titusville. Until the district releases movements or cancellations, the events will stay as they are.
