November play on its way
Rehearsals for the fall play, “Picnic at Hanging Rock,” led by theater teacher Anne Stout, start soon with show nights on Nov. 14-16.
Rehearsals for the play will begin on Oct. 1 in the theater room. They will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays and will run until the night of the first show..
“Picnic at Hanging Rock” is about 12 Australian schoolgirls who go on a picnic to Hanging Rock and mysteriously go missing. The townspeople spend the play trying to guess different explanations for the disappearances, each acted out and demonstrated by an ensemble of 12 girls.
Having been in theater since seventh grade, sophomore cast member Olivia Andrews is “eager and excited” for rehearsals to start.
“The play will definitely be successful, because our cast, crew, and director are all extremely talented, and we will all work hard to make this the best we possibly can,” Andrews said.
With the “wonderfully talented” Stout leading the play, and the “talented, dedicated, and motivated” crew, according to Andrews, “this production should not be missed.”
