Despite the dating world getting more and more digital, many teens still love a traditional romantic outing. If you’re looking for something to do with a special someone this Valentine’s Day, the City of Oviedo will host the Love is in the Air event at Oviedo’s community hub, Center
Lake Park, on Friday, Feb. 14.
“It is important for a community to have things for young people, people of any age for that matter, to do. Everyone wants to have a good time and wind down after work or school, that is why we do these types of things,” city communications manager Lisa McDonald said.
Food truck events are, in a way, Oviedo’s specialty. The city hosts a slew of events throughout the year for pretty much every major holiday, most of which include at least a few food trucks. Valentine’s Day is no different, though there will be a fun twist—there will be meals specifically for parties of two. This charming addition makes Love is in the Air a great date idea for those who want to have a special day without breaking the bank at a fancy restaurant or those who just want to grab a bite to eat with a friend.
“Food brings people together. Pretty much every event we have at Center Lake is going to have food available, whether it be independent

vendors or from our local restaurants.” McDonald said.
The movie Elemental, released in 2023, will be shown at the Oviedo amphitheater. Lawn Chairs and blankets are recommended. The movie is animated by Pixar and is appropriate for those of all ages which is good news for those burdened with watching younger siblings during their parents date night.
The weather will be mild with temperatures in the low 70s to high 60s, though it is expected to rain so you may be carrying roses in one hand and an umbrella in the other. The event begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
