Despite massive disapproval by the North Korean population and president, Kim Jong-un, The Interview still fell into the laps of millions. With humor stuffed into every second, James Franco and Seth Rogen perform this movie in their usual, goofy way. Although the movie gets a lot of chuckles, some scenes are a little over the top and even silly.

When the movie commercials first hit the screen, confusion and doubt were amongst many. Killing the Supreme Leader of North Korea is the basis for a hit movie? It was an idea that needed a little warming up to.

Despite a preposterous premise, the director morphs it into an entertaining satire of the political events of the United States. I thought the movie might go a little too far given the current political relations with North Korea, but even with the inappropriate gestures and foul language, Franco and Rogen managed to steer clear of anything too offensive.

One part of the movie that stands out is the tiger scene, and if you watched the movie and have even the slightest sense of humor you would find the scene where Rogen is almost attacked by a tiger incredibly humorous and might even provoke some tears. His panicky and confused tone combined with his inescapable urge to incorporate sarcasm with every word left for an unforgettable scene.

However, the tiger scene is not the only scene that has the power to bend people over with laughter. When Franco meets the “supreme leader,” they bond over a common love of margaritas and Katy Perry, and the directors incorporating the song “Firework” by Katy Perry into three different scenes is enough to crack through any straight face.

Overall, the movie was very entertaining, even for a spoof on world events. The Interview may not be the best movie of the year, but it is still one of the funniest I have ever seen. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a laugh or two.
