Caps off goodie jar

Materials: Small jar with lid, black cardstock (3.5″x3.5″ & 3/4″x 11″), scissors, adhesive, ruler, pencil, ribbon *for tassel, & black button.

Step 1: Making the tassel. To start, cut two pieces of string six inches long. Once cut, use remaining string & wrap around fingertips 20 times.

Step 2:  Slowly remove string from fingers,  tie one piece of string 1/2″ from top. Once tied, cut along bottom of tassel. Finally, tie other piece of string through the loop at the top of your tassel.

Step 3: Using adhesive, secure both pieces of cardstock onto the lid and lip of jar.

Step 4:  Take your button & secure it into the center of your square using adhesive. Once secure, hang your tassel around the button, allowing it to hang freely on the side of the jar.

Step 5: Add candy to your jar, or in this example we added quarters for your graduate to take and use for laundry in college. Be thoughtful with what you add to the jar!
