Chikiz Empanaditas

After having some disappointing results, Chikiz Empanaditas served us some hope for the Food Truck Thursday review. We ordered five of their mini empanadas, or empanaditas, along with a classic cilantro sauce.

Nadia: The empanaditas were brought out in under two minutes and their beef filling stayed steamy on the car ride home. Although we found the tortilla a bit chewy, the flavor of the beef and the sauce outweighed the unpleasant texture. These empanaditas make the perfect snack and I would give them a 7/10.

Skyler: The empanaditas from Chikiz Empanaditas were delicious, and they would be a good appetizer. I wish they had given us a few more, as we went through them very quickly. On their own, the empanaditas were good, but the cilantro sauce made them amazing. The tortilla wasn’t very crispy, but the texture still didn’t bother me too much. A little bit more meat on the inside would have been nice, as well. Overall, I give them a 7/10.
