A love story between a man, woman and hammer
A villain, a hero, a love interest and some funny moments. That is really all “Thor: Love and Thunder” has to offer. Released on Disney+ Sept. 8, it was a good find with decent plot and decent characters.
The movie might meet expectations, but most Marvel movies surpass expectations. The movie follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in a chase to save the Asgardian children and defeat the villain before they reach Eternity. The children were there and needed saving, but it was hard to care about the children’s safety, as it didn’t really seem like the villain would actually hurt the children.
During the movie, there were many funny parts, including some screaming goats and fat Zeus. These small things made the movie slightly more enjoyable. There were a few sad parts, but the overall movie was pretty light, and there were many laughs throughout. When looking at Thor, it is hard to tell if he is a boss or a slob, making his character more relatable, since most other heroes seem all powerful and amazing, it shows that even gods aren’t perfect.
Honestly, this movie did feel a lot like the cliché hero and villain stories. Though the plot was good, and the producers made sure to add a summary of past events at the beginning, but it still was not perfect.
One of the problems faced when watching, is that the whole villain’s background is a five-minute clip at the beginning of the movie. There is no other background other than, “Hey, this guy loves his kid and hates gods.”
Even with these flaws, it is easy to tell that there is a lot more going on than just Thor killing a villain. During the entire movie, there are many times where viewers can see the love interest of the movie, and the relationship between the two may feel highly relatable for many viewers. In reality, relationships are not perfect. Neither is Thor’s. The two people become distant, which happens in the real world as well.
Overall, it was a good movie, if someone likes relationship issues and a decently happy plot, this is a good movie to watch.
