Crystal

Crystal hot sauce was created by Alvin Baumer in 1923. They claim to use the whole cayenne pepper including the skin and the seeds, however, it does not taste like it. While vinegar is an ingredient in all hot sauces, it is overpowering in Crystal. The sauce has a thinner consistency, similar to Tabasco, but lacks flavor and heat. The best use for Crystal hot sauce would be to thin out a soup or add moisture to a dry dish.
