Evan’s Founders Day

Every year, hundreds of people gather at John Evans Elementary School on East Chapman Road to enjoy Founder’s Day, a PTA sponsored fair for the current and former families of the Evans Elementary community.
“Founder’s day was started to acknowledge John Evans, and bring the Evans community together for an event full of fun for the families,” PTA president Benita Meyer said.
Though this event is designed for families, it appeases to people of all ages. Complete with free carnival games and booths, including bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting and a basket raffle, Founder’s Day pleases everyone and ignites the child from within.
“Neighbors and friends are able to spend time in a relaxed and fun environment with plenty of things to do,” Meyer said.
The event pays for itself and provides fundraisers for different school functions. Tickets for the basket raffle complete with baskets made by elementary classes, rake in enough money to pay for Founder’s Day. The MusiKids drama program sells snow cones to fund their spring musical, and the Fifth grade department sell pizza and drink, run the dunk tank and work the photo booth to make money for their end of the year party.
Founder’s Day is Thursday March 13 from 5 to 8 p.m.
