With 2:30 left in the game, forward Christian Hofer outran the defense to score from just outside the net, giving him his sixth goal of the game.

Hofer was just one of the players who helped the boys lacrosse team dominate Seminole at home 12-5 in a district matchup on Wednesday, March 4.

In the first quarter, the boys team came out firing and was dominating possession of the ball. Early in the game, midfielder Collin Bruno found the back of the net to give the boys team a 1-0 lead with 9:56 left in the first quarter. Later in the first, attacker Dylan Raymond took advantage of a fast break, leading to the goal with 47 seconds left in the first, putting the boys team up 2-0 leading into the second quarter.

After only one minute into the second quarter, Hofer scored his first goal from a few feet out increasing the boys lead to 3. After another goal by Raymond, Seminole got on the board by scoring a goal from close range, cutting the leading 4-1 going into halftime.

During the third, neither team scored much, as both teams missed multiple scoring opportunities, until Seminole scored twice making the score 4-3 leading to a Hagerty timeout.  After the timeout, the boys team fired back with four straight goals in three minutes, including goals from Bruno, Raymond, Hofer and attacker Dom Smith.

“We decided to come out early and fight hard,” said head coach Hofer. “Our team used strategy to get our players more open shot s to close out the game.”

After the scoring downpour, both teams traded goals, including two more goals scored by Hofer, making it fifth of the game.

Towards the end of the fourth quarter, the boys led 11-5 with two minutes left in the game, until Hofer scored his final goal of the game giving the boys a dominant 12-5 victory.

“There is a lot of opportunity for us, and we came together for a big district win” saidHead coach Hofer.
