Honors band accepts students
After months of preparation, dedicated practice and an audition in September against the best high school musicians in the state, freshman Jason Donnelly, sophomore Chris Projahn, and juniors Logan Reid, Brian Hall, Shelby Krupar, Matt Pieper and Robby Burke were accepted into the 2014 Florida All-State Band.
Selected high school students from all over the state will travel to Tampa in January for three days of rehearsal and a final performance on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Straz Performing Arts Center.
“They only pick a couple people in the entire state for each section,” Reid said. “I feel privileged.”
In addition, freshmen Jason Donnelly, Bailey Carroll and Bailey Meyer, sophomore Chris Projahn, juniors Logan Reid, Shelby Krupar, Matt Pieper, Robby Burke, Casey Stuart, Evan Diatzikis and Brian Hall, and senior Nikki Meyer auditioned for and were accepted into the 2014 SCPS All-County Band, an ensemble made up of the best band members throughout Seminole County.
The mass band will hold its final performance on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Winter Springs High School.
