Solar Roller Robotics Photos
Manufacturing Association Florida tweets at the Robotics Club to applaud them on their DIDI 500 win.
The students met with the three mentors from their manufacturer, Machining Training Solutions.
The students used a modeling program to create the Solar Roller digitally before building it.
Scrap aluminum is pictured here which is what was used to make specific parts for the car.
This is the body of the Solar Roller.
The students found a motor and gear box from an old remote controlled car.
Recycled Razor scooter wheels were used for the wheels of the Solar Roller.
The remote control car and the Solar Roller next to each other.
The students fit the recycled remote controlled car parts into the aluminum frame of the Solar Roller.
To lessen the weight of the Solar Roller, the manufacturer and students helped to cut down the aluminum parts.
This is the finished product of the Solar Roller.
