Personal Fitness Trainer

Personal Fitness Trainer will be a year-long class offered as an extension of Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries. It will go more in-depth with anatomy and diseases, while giving opportunities to go hands-on with advanced taping techniques.

Care and Prevention teacher Megan Wilkins wanted to add the class because of her previous experience at Lake Mary.

“I know there are a lot of kids who want to go into medicine and we don’t have opportunities like we do for robotics or forensics,” Wilkins said. “I want them to have an outlet besides taking Biology, Care and Prevention, and Anatomy.”

Students who are in the Care and Prevention program can also help at sports events, working under certified athletic trainers. While this is under a separate program and application, students can use their knowledge from the Care and Prevention class.
