This sweet baby came with her family to have her first photoshoot at the pumpkin patch.

The leaves are starting to change color, pumpkin spice lattes are back in season. Fall is approaching, which means the pumpkin patch fundraiser that the Girl’s lacrosse team has put on for the last two years is back.

The parents and girl’s have put a lot of work into the pumpkin patch this year. With the new additions of the maze and pumpkin bowling station. They built their own props for the pumpkin patch, and they even built a website for the pumpkin patch as well. Team mom Shannon Pomp came up with the pumpkin patch designs and activities this year.

“Pinterest is an amazing resource for creative visual ideas. Most of the things that we have in our patch have started from an idea seen on Pinterest,” Pomp said.

Not only is the pumpkin patch a fun place for families to go to, but it also provides team bonding opportunities for the girls.

“I enjoy seeing the whole lacrosse team come together as a whole and work hard for our end goal,” sophomore Ainsley Pomp said.

Not only does the pumpkin patch offer pumpkins, but they also have extra activities and photo spots for families. The extra activities include: Pumpkin bowling, corn hole, spider maze, and many photo areas. On Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3pm, they host a kid’s story time in the patch. They even take requests to host corporate events and field trips for young kids.

For the past two years the girls lacrosse team has been adding on these activities to bring more excitement to the pumpkin patch, and it worked.

“The experience customers receive has changed dramatically over the last two years,” head coach Mitch Wittington said. “ We offer a first class experience for all customers that include many photo opportunities, games and a spider maze.”

Pumpkin prices are based on its size. All of the mini pumpkins are pre-priced. They sell carving pumpkins, heirloom pumpkins, mini pumpkins, perfect pumpkins, pumpkin pals, snowflakes (white pumpkins), spookies (cantaloupe sized pumpkins), snowballs (white cantaloupe sized pumpkins), and four different types of gourds. Prices for gourds and the smaller pumpkins range from $10 to $0.75.

The patch is open Monday to Friday, 3 p.m to 7 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m, the final day to purchase a pumpkin is Oct. 31. They allow pets to come and explore their patch with their families as they pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve this year.

“I enjoy working at the pumpkin patch simply by being out with people from the community but mostly by being with our girls lacrosse family, the parents, players, grandparents,  siblings,” Pomp said. “ We have a great community of people who support our girls playing lacrosse but also support each other in other areas of our lives and the pumpkin patch is just a positive fundraiser to get to spend time together.”
