This is how the AP Computer Science A class was as a course two years ago.

AP Computer Science A

AP Computer Science A will build on concepts of programming from AP Computer Science Principles. However, AP CSP is not a prerequisite to be able to enroll in AP CSA. It is being added back to the curriculum guide due to the number of students enrolled in AP CSP.

Students will be able to use the programming language Java to create programs, starting from simple programming all the way up to Object-Oriented Programming. After learning the basics through OOP, students will use OOP to build their programs with more complex features.

Administration is unsure about who would teach the course, but they are looking into teachers with a relevant background in that area.

“We have potential candidates that have Computer Science background, but depending on the number of students we may need to bring someone else on the outside,” assistant principal Jesse Walker said.
